Ali Torres is a queer artist and a San Francisco Bay Area native who has always surrounded herself with creative energies. Picking up a camera at an early age, she fell in love with photography, particularly portraits. While still in college, she began focusing on creating strong, emotional connections in her photographs between the subject and the viewer. After earning her degree in Photography, she decided to take her art to Seattle.
In the Pacific Northwest, her personal work shifted toward a focus on nature, experiencing the seasons, and soaking in the breathtaking local landscapes. She often said that while living in Seattle, she saw the most beautiful thing she had ever seen, every single day. Those years filled her with memories of lush greens, stunning mountain ranges, and misty morning walks through fallen leaves.
In 2010, she moved back to the Bay Area and turned her focus to event photography. Immersed once again in her beautifully creative community, her camera became an extension of her hand. Capturing the raw energy of groups and the smallest moments of pure honesty in each person became her new obsession.
The birth of her daughter in 2016 brought a softer focus to Ali’s work. Her heart opened to a new world of beauty and life. In 2024, her photography shifted once again, this time capturing the love, beauty, and strength of the LGBTQIA+ community. Currently living in the East Bay, Ali is raising her daughter and teaching her to see the world with open eyes and an open heart. Every day, Ali continues to live her dream of creating original and provocative photography for her friends, her community, and beyond.
